Iqaluit, Nunavut – April 18, 2026- The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is proud to sponsor of the 2026 Nunavut Quest, which marked its 27th year. On April 16, 2026, the community of Pond Inlet welcomed nine mushers as they completed this year’s race.
Qimuksiqtiit and their teams travelled a total of 580 kilometres following their departure from Igloolik on April 9, 2026, demonstrating endurance, skill and a deep connection to Inuit traditions.

QIA’s sponsorship of this years Nunavut Quest included prize money, gasoline and oil support for snowmobiles, food for camps and dogs, and funding for celebrations in both Igloolik and Pond Inlet.
QIA extends its thanks to the Nunavut Quest Committee, volunteers, participants and community members that made the Nunavut Quest another success. The ongoing legacy of Qimuksiqtiit in the Qikiqtani region lives on in the Quest and we look forward to following the mushers again next year from Pond Inlet to Arctic Bay.
