QIA Launches Youth Content Creators Program to
Promote Inuktitut and Inuit Perspectives

Iqaluit, Nunavut, February 26, 2025 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Youth Content Creators Program, an initiative designed to support Inuit youth in creating and sharing Inuktitut content that reflects Inuit culture, humour, knowledge, and community life.

The program invites Inuit youth between the ages of 16 and 30 to apply to become paid content contributors for QIA’s digital platforms. Youth are encouraged to submit original content that highlights Inuit voices and lived experiences across the Qikiqtani Region.

QIA is seeking content in the following areas:
– Short Inuktitut videos
– Inuktitut humour-based memes
– Land-based skills and demonstrations
– Content highlighting QIA programs and initiatives within local communities

Each approved submission will receive an honorarium of $50 to $100, depending on the type and scope of the content.

In addition to paid submissions, selected youth will have access to training opportunities with influential Inuit content creators who are experienced in social media, story telling, and strategies for increasing reach and engagement online. This training will support youth in developing their skills and confidence while sharing meaningful content with wider audiences.

QIA strongly encourages all submissions to be created in Inuktitut, supporting language use, revitalization, and visibility across digital spaces.

Youth who are interested in applying can find more information and submit an application through the QIA website: Youth-Led Language Content Program | QIA. Questions about the program can be directed to Karen Flaherty.

Deadline for applications is March 12th, 2026 at 5:00PM est.

QIA looks forward to supporting youth creativity and amplifying Inuit voices through this exciting new program
