QIA Launches Sakku Men’s Wellness Land Program in Pond Inlet

Iqaluit, Nunavut – March 24, 2026 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) launched the Sakku
Men’s Wellness Land Program today, a land-based initiative designed to support Inuit men
across the Qikiqtani region through cultural connection, wellness, and healing on the land.

The program will take place in Pond Inlet from June 6 to June 13, 2026, bringing together Inuit
men from across the region for a week of land-based learning and reflection. Participants will
be flown into Pond Inlet, with travel and program logistics coordinated by QIA.

The Sakku program focuses on cultural revitalization, wellness, and intergenerational
knowledge transfer. Participants will engage in activities such as hunting, survival skills,
Inuktitut language use, and guided wellness discussions. The program will be supported by a
dedicated team including a facilitator and three counsellors, ensuring a safe and supportive
environment for all participating.

QIA is inviting Inuit men, aged 18 and over, who reside in the Qikiqtani region, to apply.

Applications are open from March 24 to April 10, 2026. Online forms are available from the link
