Position: Manager, Information Technology (IT) Services

The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is seeking an experienced Manager, Information Technology (IT) Services. This position will manage day‑to‑day IT operations and support a modern, secure, and reliable technology environment across all QIA offices and communities. This is a leadership role for an experienced IT professional who enjoys working in a complex, multi-site environment and who values collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement. This position is suited for someone who is committed to advocating for Inuit and supporting the technological foundations that help advance QIA’s mission across the Qikiqtani Region.
Reporting to the Director of IT Services, The Manager of IT Services provides operational leadership and oversees QIA’s full range of IT systems, infrastructure, and services. This includes network administration, hardware and software lifecycle management, data security, end‑user support, project implementation, and the delivery of IT services across multiple locations. You will oversee IT staff, manage vendors, ensure system reliability and security, and guide the organization through technical and operational changes. This role plays a critical part in keeping QIA’s technology secure, responsive, and aligned with organizational priorities. Some duty travel is required.
The Manager, Information Technology (IT) Services is responsible for leading and managing daily IT operations, including networks, servers, cloud services, hardware, software, and end‑user support. The role involves supervising and developing an IT team through coaching, performance management, and work planning, while overseeing IT infrastructure across multiple communities, including asset lifecycle management and licensing compliance. The Manager ensures strong cybersecurity practices, data backup, and business continuity processes are in place, and plans, leads, and delivers IT projects such as system upgrades, new technology implementations, and process improvements. This position provides technical advice and recommendations to senior management, manages vendors, consultants, and third‑party service providers, and develops and maintains an Information Technology Plan aligned with organizational needs. The role also supports change management initiatives and delivers end‑user training to ensure successful adoption of IT systems and services.
What We’re Looking For:
- Five (5) years of progressive experience in IT roles, including operational responsibility;
- Experience leading others and supporting teams and conducting performance management;
- Experience managing servers, networks, hardware, routing/switching, and troubleshooting;
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Exchange Online and related applications;
- Proficiency supporting cloud identity services and implementing IT infrastructure solutions;
- Ability to speak Inuktitut is an asset.
Generally, a Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology is required. ITIL and/or Project Management certification is an asset. An acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check is required. No housing provided.
The salary range for this position is $126,464 to $151,654 per annum, plus a Nunavut Northern Allowance of $27,600 per annum. Annual vacation travel assistance (VTA) is also provided. Housing is not provided.
