2026 Nunavut Quest Begins Tuesday
Iqaluit, Nunavut – March 30, 2026 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is excited for the 2026 Nunavut Quest. The race will start this coming, April 7 Igloolik. Ten mushers will make the estimated one-week trek from Igloolik to Pond Inlet.

QIA supports Nunavut Quest through its $100, 000 allotment from the Qikiqtani Truth Commission funding, dedicated to the Qimuksiqtiit Revitalization efforts.
This year’s prizes are as follows: 1st Place – $20,000
2nd Place – $15,000
3rd Place – $10,000
4th Place – $5,000
5th Place – $2,500
6th – 10th Place – $2,000
The remainder of the QTC allotment for this year went towards community celebrations, gas for support teams, food for the camps and food for the dogs.
Live tracking updates will be available on the QIA website, www.qia.ca/nunavut-quest. Award ceremonies will take place once all of the mushers have arrived in Pond Inlet and times have been calculated.
