REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL SUMMARY
The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is seeking proposals from qualified architectural and engineering firms to lead the design and construction management of a new Multi-Use Community Building in Igloolik, Nunavut. This project will support long-standing community priorities by creating a welcoming, durable space that serves multiple generations of Inuit through wellness, cultural, educational, and community programming. QIA views the building as a critical piece of infrastructure to support Inuit self-determination and community wellness.
The successful proponent will work closely with QIA, community stakeholders, and local authorities throughout all phases:
- Conceptual and detailed design;
- Construction tendering and supervision;
- Post-construction warranty and follow-up services.
Design priorities include energy efficiency, climate resilience, low maintenance, and future readiness for solar, heat pump, and microgrid integration. Proponents should be registered professionals in good standing (NAPEG/Canada) and familiar with arctic and Inuit community contexts.
