The Project Manager of Infrastructure and Facility Operations has a key operational role within the organization. The Project Manager role is part of a team that is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of infrastructure and development projects on behalf of Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) ensuring successful delivery and long-term sustainability of infrastructure assets.
The Project Manager role is responsible for overseeing multiple projects, from planning through from construction, commissioning, to operational transition. The Project Manager will plan and implement projects, help define project scope, goals and deliverables as well as defining tasks and required resources. This position will manage the project budget, schedule and timeline and report on project status. A key part of project management includes tracking project progress, maintaining accurate project documentation, preparing reports including receiving reports and analyzing progress and risks and communicating them accordingly.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Planning, this role will ensure progress and outcomes of projects are captured, analyzed, communicated, and incorporated into decision-making processes. The Project Manager also plays a vital role in stakeholder communication and engagement, representing QIA in discussions with external partners, funding agencies, and contractors. Additionally, they will create structured reports, project management tools, and presentations to keep the Executive Management Team, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors informed on project progress, risks, and key decision points. Proficiency using Project Management software is required.
Experience giving presentations or leading working groups is required and the incumbent will be required to prepare funding applications and manage project budgets and financial reporting. Applicants must have experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams. Experience managing infrastructure projects, including lifecycle management, is also required. Experience in risk management, including implementing mitigation strategies, is essential in this role.
Ideally, the incumbent will have a post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Business Administration with a focus on Project Management and Infrastructure Development. Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, CCM) is a strong asset. A combination of relevant education and related experience may be an acceptable equivalency. An acceptable Criminal Record Check is required.
Salary range is $116,755 to $171,240 per annum, plus a Northern Allowance of $27,600 per annum.
