PSA: WORKSHOPS ON CONTRACTING AND PROCUREMENT FOR MARY RIVER PROJECT

EVENT: Upcoming community workshops on contracting and procurement for the Mary River Project

LOCATIONS: Iqaluit, Igloolik and Pond Inlet

DATE of EVENT: January 2017

The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) and Baffinland Iron Mines will be co-hosting community workshops throughout January for Inuit interested in learning about the process of contracting and procurement for the Mary River Project.

The workshops in Iqaluit, Igloolik and Pond Inlet will be an opportunity for interested Inuit businesses to learn more about how to get prequalified for their contracts.

This is also a great opportunity to engage Baffinland in a conversation about project contracting opportunities and contracting practices.

A representative from QIA will also be present at the meetings to talk about the Mary River Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement.

Kakivak Association will be at the meetings to talk about their programs and business development services, including the Business Capacity and Start-Up Fund (BCSF). This money comes from the Mary River Inuit Impact Benefit Agreement.

January 18 – Pond Inlet

January 19 – Pond Inlet
