Iqaluit, Nunavut – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) 2014 Elections will be held on Monday December 8, 2014 for the following positions on the QIA Board of Directors:

1. President
2. Community Director, Clyde River
3. Community Director, Grise Fiord (2 year existing term)
4. Community Director, Sanirajak
5. Community Director, Iqaluit
6. Community Director, Kimmirut
7. Community Director, Pond Inlet
8. Community Director, Sanikiluaq
9. Community Director, Igloolik

As per Section 5 of the QIA Election Regulations, the call for nominations and issue of nomination forms will commence on October 20, 2014, Seven (7) weeks prior to the Election Day.

A Request for proposals (RFP) is currently out to fill the role of a Chief Returning Officer. The Chief Returning Officer will be an independent contractor, responsible for supervising and directing the administration of the QIA’s 2014 Elections.

The RFP and the Election Regulations are available through QIA’s website at: www.qia.ca The closing date for the RFP to fill the
Chief Returning Officer position is on September 23, 2014 at 5:00 pm. Eastern time.

The announcement of the appointed Chief Returning Officer will be on or before September 26, 2014.

The QIA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of the Inuit rights.
