Iqaluit, Nunavut – October 9, 2025 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is excited to invite the public to join in celebrating its 50th anniversary in Iqaluit. The community celebration will take place tomorrow, October 10, 2025, at the Nakashuk School Gym, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
This year, QIA has been marking its 50th anniversary with events hosted in all 13 Qikiqtani communities. These celebrations have brought people together to reflect on QIA’s history and achievements, while enjoying games, music, and community gatherings.
The Iqaluit celebration will also serve as the conclusion of QIA’s Board of Directors meeting and Annual General Meeting (AGM) being held in the capital earlier in the week.
Iqalummiut can look forward to an evening of fun featuring live music, dancing, games, door prizes, and more.
