PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: QIA suspends non-essential programs and implements work-from-home procedures in light of COVID-19
DATE ISSUED: March 17, 2020
EVENT: QIA suspends non-essential programs and implements work-from-home procedures in light of COVID-19
In our continued efforts to prioritizes the health and wellbeing of our employees and communities and assist in limiting the spread of COVID-19, the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is escalating our prevention and mitigation measures by implementing work-from-home procedure and suspending non-essential program delivery until further notice.
As of Wednesday March 18, QIA staff (except those who are required to come to the office to access systems or perform essential services) are instructed to work from home until March 31, 2020.
For the time being all non-essential programs such as the Qikiqtani Cultural Activities Program (QCAP), the Qikiqtani Skills and Training for Employment Partnership (Q-STEP), Grants and Contributions and the Ilagiiktunut Nunalinnullu Pivalliajutisait Kiinaujat program will be suspended.
In order to receive essential services, Qikiqtani Inuit may call, e-mail or fax their inquiries to QIA. Offices are closed to the general public until further notice.
As conditions continue to change rapidly, we will be revisiting and reassessing these decisions regularly to support staff and community health.
