PSA: Tusaqtavut Interviews – Clyde River

 In Media Releases

DATE ISSUED: October 16, 2020

DATES: October 19 – 23, 2020

LOCATION: Ilisaqsivik, Clyde River

The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is hosting Tusaqtavut interviews with Inuit in Clyde River to gather traditional knowledge for a study. Similar interviews were already conducted in Pond Inlet, Igloolik and Sanirajak.

Tusaqtavut is an impacted communities’ regional study by Inuit. This Inuit-led study will use Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit to demonstrate the use of land and water for Inuit cultural activities and gather views on the impacts of the Mary River Project.

The study is being conducted because Inuit have expressed a need for more comprehensive studies than the ones led by Baffinland.

Inuit who take part in the interviews will be compensated. Due to COVID-19, interviews will be limited to small socially distanced groups.
