The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) QIA is seeking a Coordinator, Qimmiit Revitalization Program that enables the efficient administration of QIA’s Qikiqtani Truth Commission (QTC)-related programs, specifically the Qimmiit Revitalization program stream. The position will be accountable for the transparent and accountable deployment and administration of QTC programs and initiatives which are delivered by QIA.
Reporting to the Manager, QTC Implementation and Programs, the position is accountable to execute the direction provided by its committees, as delivered through the Department of Social Policy. The Incumbent will assist in providing information and recommendations to the program delivery team, the Director of Social Policy, and/or Executive Director. This position is heavily relied upon by senior leadership throughout QIA to provide timely, accurate, and the associated outcomes of social programming delivered through the Department of Social Policy.
The Coordinator, Qimmiit Revitalization Program provides expertise and leadership in the execution of their role and supports the Director of Social Policy to achieve advances in several key results areas, including: Enabling Inuit Self Sufficiency, Coordination and Liaison, Effective Communication and Reporting, and Operational Efficiency.
The incumbent should have awareness of the political, social, and economic environment of the Qikiqtani Inuit Association, and of Nunavut and Inuit Nunangat in general, general knowledge of Inuit history, language, culture, and society; cultural programming; or other program delivery; of program design, development, or evaluation; Understanding of QIA as an organization, QIAs jurisdiction, and roles and responsibilities; understanding and knowledge of the Qikiqtani Truth Commission; knowledge of traditional qimmiit or qimuksiq practices, understanding Intergenerational trauma. Skills should include; demonstrated skills in client service while providing the necessary support and assistance to help Inuit and community stakeholders; organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a demanding environment, and abilities required demonstrated ability in program coordination, program development and/or evaluation, and/or extensive experience in program delivery; electronic file management; strong teamwork and team building ability, demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable and trusted resource to management; and should have basic financial administration of programs/projects, and should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of two years of experience in; program administration and delivery; experience working with Nunavut communities, Inuit, or other Indigenous organizations or federal or governmental agencies; working in business, social policy, or a related field in Inuit Nunangat, and delivering presentations to the public, a board of directors, or a workshop.
This position generally requires completion of a post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree in Social Sciences or business administration related field is preferred, but not required. Having knowledge and skills in qimmiit practices or qimuksiq will be considered an asset. Fluency in Inuktitut is required for the position

A combination of relevant education and related experience may also be deemed an acceptable equivalency
Starting salary for this position is $67,015 per annum, plus a Northern Allowance of $24,000 per annum. Housing is not provided.
