The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is seeking one candidate for one position. This position is based in Pond Inlet, NU.
The position of Community Coordinator, reporting to the Mary River Project IIBA Manager and working with other Department managers, takes direct responsibility for facilitating communication between the affected communities in the North Baffin and QIA. The Community Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for individuals and affected communities in communicating concerns relating to a major project, with a focus on the Mary River Project. The role will facilitate the transfer of information from communities to the department and from QIA back to the communities. The role will require coordinating and leading meetings within the communities as well as providing logistical support for community consultations and travelling departmental staff. Supporting additional activities such as the implementation of programs flowing from major development projects and related QIA contractual agreements will also feature prominently in this role.
The position would be best suited to a candidate that has achieved a two (2) year College Diploma in administration, management studies, environmental technology or a related field. A combination of relevant education and/or experience will also be considered.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications is required.
Fluency in Inuktitut and English is desired for this position.
