Press Release – Cancellation of Community Feast – Country Foods Donated to Local Organizations in Need
Iqaluit, NU. October 10, 2013. The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) has had to cancel the Community Feast that was originally planned for Tuesday October 8th, due to the recent storm. A venue for the feast is not available at this time.
“QIA will now donate all of the country food to local organizations working to help feed those in need in our community” said President Okalik Eegeesiak.
Foods planned for the Community Feast will now be given to the Elder’s Facility, Group Homes, Tammartivik, Women’s and Men’s Shelter.
