OUR DEPARTMENTS
The head office of QIA is located in Iqaluit and has a staff of 24. The organization is made up of the following departments:
- Executive – Responsible for Board and Executive relations
- Social Policy – Responsible for social and cultural issues related to Women’s, Elders,Youth Departments and cultural preservation wing, Niutaq Cultural Institute
- Women’s Affairs – Deals with women’s affairs in the region
- Youth Department – Deals with youth affairs in the region (works with Baffin Regional Youth Council)
- Operations – Responsible for the administrative aspects of running the organization
- Finance – Responsible for the financial aspects of running the organization
- Communications – Responsible for organizational communications and promotions
- Lands – Responsible for the management of Inuit owned lands.
- Implementation – Responsible for matters related to the implementation of the Nunavut Land Claims
QIA also controls, under its umbrella:
- Qikiqtaaluk Corporation – Economic Development, Business Ventures
- Kakivak Association – Economic Development, Small Business Support, Training
- Niutaq Cultural Institute – Elders and Cultural
- Baffin Regional Youth Council - Youth
