Our Youth Department is the energetic center of the Social Policy Department, thanks in no small part to the dedication of the Regional Coordinators.

Our Youth Coordinators:

• Seek input from youth through the Baffin Regional Youth Council and local youth committees
• Develop and deliver programs and services that benefit young people in the region
• Provide support, guidance and assistance to the Baffin Regional Youth Council
• Act as a clearinghouse for information and resources for youth in the Baffin region

The Youth Department works on programs and special projects such as:

• Traditional hunting and camping
• Traditional Sewing
• Inuktitut language celebrations
• Sprouts Summer Day Camp

Our Youth Coordinators are available to speak on a variety of topics such as:

• Leadership for Youth, including Public Speaking for Youth
• Inuit History, including culture, politics, philosophy, and understanding traditional and contemporary Inuit society
• Inuit Pride – Interactive and fun, participants learn about what sets Inuit apart from others, values, “People come first”, how Inuit in Nunavut gained their own territory, peacefully!
