QIA offers a number of youth-focused programs each year: Sprouts Day Camp, Baffin Regional Youth Workshops, on-the-land and sewing programs and Inuktitut Language Week. These programs depend on third-party funding such as the Aboriginal Language Initiative, Cultural Connections for Aboriginal Youth and Aboriginal Representative Organization funding through Heritage Canada or through the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Culture, Language, Elders and Youth.
Internally, QIA operates the Nunalingni Aulajjagiaqtiit/Community Initiatives Program via funds received from subsidiary companies Nunasi Corporation and Qikiqtaaluk Corporation.
The CIP recently underwent some changes that QIA announced in July 2012.
